There are several pressing questions at this stage

• Does the XAS community value the concept of a high-flux beamline well enough to continue fighting for its place at NSLS-II?
• If so:
  1. Who should lead the effort to for the second letter of interest?
  2. What form should the LOI take? What should the be scientific focus of the LOI?
  3. Who from the community will be involved in the effort to define the scientific and technical scope of the new LOI?
• What role should the XAS community play in the development of the microprobe beamline?
