Notes
- Currently only one Workshop/Tutorial session is scheduled. An additional one would eliminate one oral session.
- Poster sessions would be integrated with DXC.
- Currently nothing scheduled during the DXC Plenary session.
- Each oral session is 210 min long.
- 6 oral sessions with 1 invited talk of 30 min and 6, 20 minute contributed talks will give 42 talks.
- Special symposium will consist of 4, 40 minute talks to fill 210 min.
- Need to do fund-raising for support of Special Symposium speakers.
Possible workshop/session themes
- Complementarity of XAS with XRD and XRF: using multiple synchrotron tools, one of which is XAS, to solve problems
- Microprobe XAS, XRF, and XRD
- XAS problem solving with Feff8 (and possibly other theory tools): what I imagine here is more workshop-y, that is, how do you use XANES theory to interpret data, possibly with a set of take-home problems for participants to work on
- Other inner shell spectroscopies: XES and RIXS, X-ray raman
- The state of theory and analysis packages: what interesting new approaches are people working on and how do we encourage the implementation of new ideas into existing or novel theory and analysis tools
- Data acquisition, data storage, file formats
