Adjusting the Monochromator Entrance Slits
The mono entrance slits are set using the micrometers on the upstream side of the mono tank. The one on the left is for the vertical slits, the one on the right is for the horizontal.
Vertical slits
The vertical slit assembly consists of four slots of decreasing heights. The slit heights and their corresponding micrometer positions are:

When you change energies, it is a good idea to optimize the entrance slits by watching the signal on the feedback detector I00.
Horizontal slits
The horizontal slit assembly consists of a series of slots on increasing width in a fork hanging down in front of the beam. The vertical extent of each slot is quite tall compared to the beam, so positioning of the mike is not so important.
